What is Organic Sphere?

Organic Sphere is a family-run mill located in Texas that specializes in producing freshly milled flours and traditional organic wellness foods following Dr. Khadar Vali protocols. They focus on ancient grains, traditional processing methods like bull-driven oil extraction, and minimal processing to retain maximum nutrients and natural properties.

How does the bull-driven oil extraction method work?

Bull-driven oil extraction uses a traditional wooden mortar and pestle made from the Vaghe tree, powered by a bull operating at 1-3 rpm. This gentle process takes 3-4 hours for 10-15 kgs of oil, avoiding chemicals and excessive heat while introducing only minimal water. The oil is then filtered and allowed to rest for natural sedimentation.

What makes Organic Sphere flour different from supermarket flour?

Organic Sphere flour is milled on demand (same day or day before delivery) using traditional stone milling methods. Unlike conventional flours, it's not bleached, contains no additives, and retains the bran and germ. They use ancient grains like emmer and khorasan wheat that haven't been extensively hybridized or genetically modified.

What are the key differences between roasted and unroasted millets?

Unroasted millets retain all their heat-sensitive B-complex vitamins, antioxidants, and natural surface microbes crucial for fermentation. Roasted millets have enhanced nutty flavor and are easier to mill, but may have reduced levels of vitamins and antioxidants due to heat exposure, with most natural microbes destroyed during the roasting process.

Why is A2 Gir cow ghee better than regular ghee?

A2 Gir cow ghee is derived from Gir cows that produce A2 protein, making it easier to digest and beneficial for those with sensitive digestion. Prepared using the traditional Vedic bilona method, it retains essential vitamins, nutrients, and therapeutic properties while offering superior nutritional profile compared to A1 ghee.

What are millets and why are they considered traditional grains?

Millets are small-seeded grasses that are hardy, drought-resistant crops grown in the Indian subcontinent for at least 5000 years. They can mature in as little as 65 days, require minimal water and fertility, and when properly stored, whole millets can keep for two or more years, making them sustainable traditional grains.
