Recommended Foods:

  • General Preferences: Choose foods that are not excessively hot, with a preference for cool or lukewarm drinks. Focus on sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes.
  • Fruits: Opt for sweet fruits, avoiding sour varieties. Good choices include grapes, bananas, coconuts, melons, apples, and pears. Enjoy melons like cantaloupe and honeydew, dark grapes, avocados, and sweet mangoes.
  • Vegetables: Emphasize green leafy vegetables, as well as asparagus, artichokes, peas, okra, and zucchini. Squashes, cucumbers, carrots, and green peppers are also beneficial.
  • Protein: For non-vegetarians, lean poultry and egg whites are suitable. Vegetarians should prefer mung bean soup and lentils, and can enjoy tofu cooked in olive oil.
  • Dairy: Favor ghee, milk, butter, sweet buttermilk, and sweet lassi. In moderation, cottage cheese, fresh mozzarella, homemade soft cheese, ricotta, and goat cheese are acceptable.
  • Grains: Prefer Millets (Siridhanya millets, neutral millets), non gmo wheat such as Kamut, Emmer/Kapli wheat, Handpound rice and cooked oat  / Millet flakes. Other good options include couscous, quinoa, brown or semi polished rice depending on the source. Please avoid regular "Wheat and rice" - they are GMO and/or severely processed.
  • Beans: Yellow mung dal, small kidney beans, adzuki beans, and soybean products are favorable.
  • Nuts and Seeds: Pumpkin seeds and blanched almonds are the best options. Soak or cook nuts for better digestion.
  • Spices: Use spices like coriander, cumin, small amounts of ginger, turmeric, saffron, and fennel. Fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, rosemary, and basil are also good.

Foods to Avoid or Limit:

  • General: Avoid foods with pungent, sour, and salty tastes.
  • Grains: Limit buckwheat and rye.
  • Vegetables: Avoid tomatoes, beetroots, carrots, hot peppers, and raw onions.
  • Dairy: Steer clear of sour milk products and aged or salty cheeses.
  • Sweeteners: Avoid molasses and brown sugar.
